Jillayne Karras is a professional handler located in Western Pennsylvania and travels throughout the East Coast, specializing in promoting Australian Shepherds with experience in several other breeds. She prides herself in her dedication to ensuring that all dogs in her care are happy and confident, well-conditioned and above all, loved unconditionally. It is this combination of a close bond with their handler that brings out the best in the team to produce winning results. Jillayne is assisted by her boyfriend Andrew Parnell who also plays a vital role in the daily care and conditioning of all the client and personal dogs on their team.
Jillayne has always had a love for dogs and animals. She started in the sport of dogs nearly twenty years ago, at first training a Border Collie in 4H and competing in their Conformation & Obedience program for Junior Handlers. From there, she joined AKC & ASCA Junior Handling and quickly became successful with her first Australian Shepherd from a local breeder on Cape Cod who was able to assist her with learning much about the breed. After aging out of Junior Showmanship, Jillayne lived/traveled with and assisted various PHA & AKC Registered handlers for a few years to learn the necessary skills to have what it takes to venture into the business herself, most important being the care and conditioning of the dogs in her charge, as well as forming a lasting relationship with her clients. Jillayne has helped operate successful boarding kennels as well as work in a grooming salon with various breeds for several years. She believes that one is never done learning and is looking forward to watching her passion and love for her business and the sport evolve.
During her handling career thus far, Jillayne has won multiple Reserve Bests in Show, multiple Bests in Specialty Show, numerous Group Firsts & Placements, handled dogs to Top 20 Rankings the last few years, and finished many champions.
At this time Jillayne is accepting new clients and has availability to join the team! Please contact email@example.com for a Rate Sheet, Intake Form and Handling Agreement which are required prior to sending your dog.
